The Cocktails & Chemo Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit, dedicated to caring for caregivers.
We define ‘caregiver’ as anyone who is loving on someone who is sick. We support caregivers at all stages of the journey.
Once a caregiver, always a caregiver and we walk the highs and lows together.
Our Foundation focuses on sending care packages, providing financial grants and building our support networks across the country.
Who We Are
Meet a Cocktails & Chemo Caregiver
Heather Hernandez’ husband, Caesar, was diagnosed with stage IV bile duct cancer. He found Cocktails & Chemo and nominated his beautiful wife to receive a care package.
“I didn’t know he had done this, and it was such a sweet surprise to receive a package of pick me ups in the mail,” Heather remembers the way it made her feel but more than anything she remembers the way it made her husband feel.
“It was amazing to see how happy it made him to be able to do something nice for me in the midst of medical treatments and managing small kids,” she said.
Caesar passed away this summer and now Heather is raising their sweet boys alone. She’s joined the Chicago Cocktails & Chemo chapter and attended our luncheon this summer just weeks after her husband had died.
“Receiving that care package is a beautiful memory to have of something positive we shared while he was sick. Cocktails and Chemo is an amazing organization, and such an amazing group of people who have been through so much, still supporting others in similar situations.”
“That care package is a beautiful memory to have of something positive we shared while (my husband) was sick.”
“When my husband was sick, I was home with a newborn baby and felt completely torn between keeping my household running and getting him to chemotherapy. It was so stressful, not to mention the extra expenses of child care. #OurTribe is an initiative to help offset those stresses. Caregivers need to know they have a tribe behind them, extra hands to help hold them up.”- Amanda Clark, C&C founder
